Before You Go Solar — Here’s What to Know

These offers apply exclusively to our Bright Start, Bright Boost, Bright Max, Sunny Reserve, and Sunny Reserve Plus packages for residential properties only.

  • All prices are GST-inclusive.

  • Offers cannot be combined with any other promotions or discounts.

  • All installations are subject to Watthaus Strategy’s standard Terms of Service.

  • If additional work or costs are identified after the site assessment, a customised quote will be provided for your approval before any work begins.

  • Timeframes and delivery schedules may vary based on product availability, site conditions, and local council approvals (where applicable).

"Our goal is to make sure there are no surprises only clean, affordable energy.

Every home is different, and so are roof types. Our pricing and installation plans are designed for standard residential setups.

Roof Pitch:

  • Standard pricing covers roofs with a pitch of up to 25°.

  • Steeper roofs may require tailored mounting solutions and additional charges for safety and labour.

Roof Type:

  • Prices are based on corrugated iron roofs.

  • Other roof types — such as tile, decramastic, or membrane — may need special mounting systems or extra labour.

Scaffolding:

  • If scaffolding is required, it will be charged as an additional cost after the initial site inspection.

We’ll assess your roof and provide a clear breakdown before installation begins.

To ensure safety and performance, each solar installation connects directly to your home’s electrical system.

  • Standard pricing includes a maximum 5-metre cable run from the switchboard to the inverter or battery.

  • If your switchboard does not meet current safety standards, upgrades may be required — especially for whole-home backup setups in hybrid systems.

  • Extra cabling, trenching, or protective conduit runs (if required) will be quoted separately.

All wiring and components are installed in accordance with New Zealand regulations to ensure long-term reliability.

All installations are carried out by qualified and certified solar electricians and comply with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Installations adhere to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and all local electrical safety codes.

  • Where required, additional mechanical protection (e.g. bollards for wall-mounted batteries near driveways or garages) may be installed to meet compliance and safety standards.

  • A Certificate of Compliance (CoC) and/or Electrical Safety Certificate (ESC) will be issued after installation.

Your safety and compliance come first — every system we install meets or exceeds New Zealand standards.
